A Message from Gerard Richardson, an african-american man, the 312th DNA Exoneree

A Message from Gerard Richardson, the 312th DNA Exoneree

via E-Mail: www.innocenceproject.com

Annamaria,

This week we celebrated the 312th DNA Exoneree – Gerard Richardson of New Jersey. Gerard spent nearly 20 years in prison until DNA testing proved his innocence. Others like him still wait for justice and I hope we can count on your support.

Donate today and your gift will also be matched to make TWICE the impact .

Gerard visited the Innocence Project recently and he was so grateful for all the support he has received. He had this message to share:

I represented Gerard for many years and got to know him and his family. He is a man of incredible inner strength whose optimism is contagious. He’s fortunate to have a large family who all stood by him with unwavering support and it has been a joy watching him reunite with them as a free man. His sister celebrated her birthday this week and said that having Gerard back was the best present she could ask for. They are all looking forward to spending Christmas together as a family.

The staff at the Innocence Project work everyday fighting for the 313th, 314th, and hopefully even more exonerees. We continue to receive hundreds of letters from prisoners every month asking for help in proving their innocence.

Please make a year-end gift today to help free the next innocent person. Your donation will also be generously matched by a group of Innocence Project supporters, up to $35,000!
With many thanks and warm wishes for the holidays,

Vanessa Potkin
